I spotted one of these while riding the bike last week. It was very cool! Very Big! I noticed it...kind of, saw this "thing" next to a pine tree I pass every day and then something made me do a double-take...and I realized it was a Great Horned Owl. I've seen little owls before....never one like this. It made my day!
(the one I saw was on the ground next to the tree...it looked like it was about 2 feet tall...and looked almost like a tree stump....until I noticed a slight movement and when I looked back I saw the ears and those eyes looking at me!)
