Have you had enough???( I haven't ! )

Marcus told us from the start he wasn't a big dancer. Martha told him...well...if you're going to be a member of this family you're going to have to learn to be one...or something along that line. The night of the reception, Marcus danced with Megan and looked great I might add. For someone who doesn't really "Like" to dance...he looked pretty good to me.We were dancing the night away and all of the sudden Megan spotted activity in the back....

Marcus and his parents...dancing!

Catie ran over to join in the fun.
next....Megan hopped in
And so...of course the group of us on the other side of the dance floor had to mirror their moves!

and that's how it went until the end of the song! It was fun...and then they joined us out on the dance floor!
And  I love these pictures of Brenna with her own moves.

                                                                dancing away
and trying to encourage someone else to join in.
                                                                That's our girl! hahah

Time flies

It's hard to believe that it's already July 14th! The last two weeks have gone by quickly! I'm not complaining...but....time flies sometimes! John's been busy...he has several jobs going on at once. He makes (made) it work...but it's a little stressful for him. This past week he couldn't take time off...but Reid and Chandler got a couple of guys to go out fishing. They didn't get a lot...but they got these two Wahoo!
                                                                  The big one weighed 60lbs!
It was hard to get the fish out of the boat.

The next night we went over to the Lawson's for fresh wahoo dinner. It was great!

John was out of town at a golf tournament on Friday and Saturday...so I made a plan with Gayle to go out to eat one night. she called a few more people and six of us ended up here for a drink and some appetizers.  It had been kind of a drizzly afternoon/evening...but still nice. We debated on whether we wanted something from the early bird menu...or appetizers in the lounge area. Opted for the lounge. We each ordered two appetizers....ended up with a sampler of Fish Tacos, Firecracker Shrimp, Shrimp Skewers, Lettuce Wraps, Beefsteak Tomato Salad, and some Prime Rib Sliders. The sliders were my favorite...followed by the tomatoes and the firecracker shrimp. We all ate well....and I got a mini slice of mud pie to go...for a little snack later on...:)
It was an enjoyable evening. Not too expensive, tasty food and nice company. We all agreed we will have to do it again sometime soon.

July 4th

As Megan said "How did you not see that thing blocking Catherine's face?"  Haha...no glasses...that's my excuse. Pretty bad....:)
Of course they had the annual hula-hoop contest. Kids first...employees later. Megan had to get a hoop and give it a whirl.( she's still got it!)

Let's use all the favors for a picture...Catherine did a better job than I did...hahaha
Indialantic staff

By the way...Indialantic tied with Satellite Beach for the win this year. Games include, balloon toss, surf board ? paddle out, dodge ball, hula hoop. I didn't venture down to the beach...stayed in the (cooler) shade of the pavilion.
We later went down to the beach as another party was wrapping up. Still enjoyed a half hour or so down by the ocean. Came home and tried to keep the dogs calm during the neighborhood fireworks. Our neighbor Scotty must have spent big bucks...he had all kinds of BIG things shooting off. Megan's dog was in his "thundershirt" and we gave him half a pill to keep him calm. It worked. Kiena doesn't hear as well as she used to...a good thing on the 4th of July! She got a little nervous as the evening wore on...but just barked at me...no pacing and panting. I stepped out front...saw things sparkling in the sky in all directions...had my vanilla ice cream with raspberries, strawberries and blueberries...and just enjoyed the nice night.

A trip to the zoo.....

I finally made a trip to the zoo today. I've been wanting to go for a while...just didn't want to go alone...John and I attempted one time... but it was waaaaay too crowded. Hard to believe that was over a year ago. Today...Megan joined me.

This was the most fun of the day....the giraffes!
We bought a couple of crackers and in no time this guy was enjoying a snack.
look at those eyes.....

It wasn't as hot today as it has been...because there was cloud cover...but it was humid and hot enough that many of the animals were a little sluggish...(humans as well! hahah)The wallaby was relaxing...kangaroo was under a bush.
The anteater made an appearance right when we walked up...perfect timing for my picture! They are so cool looking...so weird!
I wanted to ride the train...but we didn't. It is the old train from the Disney Campground at Fort Wilderness. It used to take you around the campground. I wanted to ride it again for old time's sake...It is in beautiful condition!

Couldn't resist posing for pictures. Hope to make a trip to the beach to see some real turtles while Megan and Catherine are here.
This just might be the brick Brenna made way back when the zoo was first open. The kids made them in art class...Brenna's class had their bricks right near the front entrance...as far as I  remember that is I really do think this might be hers. If not...it will work...hahah
decided to see how I'd look with an Afro.....

Our last stop...the tortoise...the real one and this one. we left before the storms rolled in and it was a nice outing.

weekly wrap up

my early morning view of the world
The rest of the week was pretty uneventful...not bad...but nothing too exciting. Saturday, however we attended a Celebration for our friend Pat Tanner. Instead of a funeral...everyone was invited to attend a party to celebrate her life. Her daughter made these cranes for everyone to take home.

While Pat was sick...some friends of hers from high school paid her a visit and  delivered a gift of 1000 cranes. Chuck had this acrylic case made so they could put them all on display. It is perfect...so colorful and wonderful to know the thoughts and well wishes that they represent.
The weather did not look promising yesterday afternoon...but they had a big tent in the back yard...and for the most part the storms stayed away. It certainly did not keep all the friends, family, co-workers, neighbors from coming to say good-bye to a wonderful person. We will miss Pat and that great smile she had......but she has left a big impression on all of us.

A few people shared some thoughts about Pat...and we all cried a little, laughed a little and just enjoyed the afternoon together. It was a wonderful tribute to her...and a nice alternative to a funeral. It hasn't really sunk in for me yet... because I did not see Pat all the time. We enjoyed some trips with Pat and her family...she included me in her "Girl's Night Out" get- togethers that she had when Chuck was away. It was always a treat to get the email inviting me to come over for some fun. She enjoyed a lot parties at our house over the years and taught us how to roll sushi when we had fresh tuna.
It's hard to lose special people in life...we'll remember her of course...but it won't be quite the same without her...but as she told her sister..."Harriet, I'm going to be alright!" and she is. I'm sure we will all be okay too....because that's the way she would want it.
